The White House proclaimed October 2022 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

It was a proclamation for people, businesses, and institutions of the United States to recognize the importance of cybersecurity. The ask is to take action to better protect ourselves  against cyber threats, and to observe Cybersecurity Awareness Month in support of national security and resilience.

In our line of business we are always thinking about Security, but it never hurts to receive more information or take some time to review all the free information and tool kits available.

Currently, 90% of data breaches involve the human element.

Some easy things to put into action at all levels:

• Ensure when you click links they are from reliable and known sources
• If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is; JUST DELTE IT!
• A brand new, out of the ordinary request from a supervisor or manager to take action…maybe double check first.
• EOY is coming, double check messages containing words with BONUS, INCENTIVE, VACATION, FREE and other excitable click topics
• Think about using a password keeper tool for extra personal security

Companies will be posting, educating and training this month around the topic. Take advantage. It is always changing so the right partner makes all the differences.
